Tottenham Hotspur to play Jamaica in the Bahamas

Tottenham Hotspur will play Jamaica in a friendly in the Bahamas to celebrate the the latter's 40th year of independence.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they will play a friendly match against the Jamaican national team in the Bahamas on May 23.

The match has been arranged as part of the Bahamas' 40th anniversary of independence and will be played in the new Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium on Nassau Paradise Island.

"We are delighted to accept an invitation from the Government of the Bahamas to take part in the country's 40th anniversary celebrations," Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said.

"This match will see the club support the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, as it looks to build its profile across key markets around the world as a leading destination for tourism."

It will be the first time a Premier League club has ever played in the Bahamas.
