Kyle Walker has revealed that he cannot wait to get playing again after enduring a difficult summer.
The 22-year-old was forced to miss out on a place in England's squad for Euro 2012 after breaking his toe and failed to recover to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Games.
Walker admitted that it was tough to miss out on tournament football this summer and that he is desperate to get back playing and begin the new campaign.
He told the Daily Star: "It makes you want it even more when something like that is taken away from you. I'm still young enough to play in several major tournaments, but you can't take things for granted. That's why I was so gutted to miss out.
"I'm looking forward to the new season. It's a new manager and we have to impress him. We all start from scratch."
Walker was named PFA Young Player of the Year in 2011-12 after a superb season for Spurs at full-back.
