Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up Julian Nagelsmann as Antonio Conte's successor with the German set to be sacked by Bayern Munich.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in appointing Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager.

Antonio Conte has a contract with Spurs until the end of the season, but speculation over his future has heightened in recent days.

The Italian launched a scathing attack on his "selfish" players following last Saturday's 3-3 draw against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.

Spurs boasted a 3-1 lead after 74 minutes, but conceded two goals in the closing stages, sparking an angry response from Conte.

The fiery press conference has reportedly led to some members of the first team asking for Conte to be relieved of his duties.

Another report has suggested that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will sack the 53-year-old during the current international break.

There is an expectation that first-team coach Ryan Mason could lead the team on a temporary basis until the end of the season.

Tottenham would still need a permanent successor, and according to football.london, they could look to appoint Nagelsmann.

Bayern Munich are reportedly set to sack the 35-year-old and replace him with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

Nagelsmann has guided Bayern to the Champions League quarter-finals, where they are set to face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

However, the Bavarians were beaten 2-1 by Bayer Leverkusen before the international break, allowing Borussia Dortmund to move one point clear in the Bundesliga title race.

Despite being in his mid-thirties, Nagelsmann has already managed 315 games during his time with Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Bayern.

Nagelsmann led Leipzig to the DFB-Pokal final in 2020-21 before he went on to win the Bundesliga and two German Super Cup trophies with the Bavarians.

Tottenham could face competition for Nagelsmann, though, as Real Madrid are believed to be among his admirers.

With Barcelona 12 points clear of Los Blancos at the top of La Liga, there is uncertainty surrounding the future of Carlo Ancelotti, and Real Madrid could view Nagelsmann as a potential successor.
