Middlesbrough 'close to signing Tottenham Hotspur youngster Milos Veljkovic on loan'

Middlesbrough are reportedly close to the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur teenager Milos Veljkovic.

Tottenham Hotspur teenager Milos Veljkovic has reportedly spoken to Championship club Middlesbrough about a loan move to the Riverside.

The 19-year-old Serbian, who made two substitute appearances for Spurs in the Premier League last season, is expected to join Boro until January.

"I'm leaving on a three-month loan," Veljkovic told Serbian publication Telegraf.

"Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka called me to talk about the possibility. He was previously an assistant to Jose Mourinho [at Real Madrid].

"I am happy to get the chance. In January, a loan could be extended to the end of the season."

Swiss-born Veljkovic can play in either central defence or as a defensive midfielder.
