Michael Dawson plans to stay at the club beyond the two years that remain on his deal.

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Michael Dawson has admitted that he hopes to stay at the club for many years to come.

Dawson, who has made 34 appearances for Spurs this season, said that he had no intention of leaving last summer, despite the club accepting a bid from Queens Park Rangers.

The 29-year-old intends to see out the remaining two years of his current deal and extend his stay if possible.

"Hopefully if the manager and the chairman want me for that long, it would be great," The Express quotes Dawson as saying.

"I never gave leaving Spurs a thought last summer, having been here for eight years."

Spurs narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Champions League this season.
