Michael Dawson admits his disappointment at Tottenham Hotspur's failure to finish in fourth place in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has admitted his disappointment at failing to finish fourth in the Premier League this season.

Andre Villas-Boas's side beat Sunderland 1-0 at White Hart Lane in their final league game of the season on Sunday, but Arsenal's 1-0 win at Newcastle United means that they have to settle for fifth place.

"We have missed out and it is another hard day to take," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"We can't just look at today. We put ourselves in this position. We hoped Arsenal would slip up but they didn't unfortunately."

Spurs will play in next season's Europa League.
