Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is confident that the club will keep Hugo Lloris despite admitting that Tottenham Hotspur are interested.
French international captain Lloris has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League, but Aulas believes that persuading the goalkeeper to stay at Lyon is a priority.
Aulas said: "Tottenham made contact through his agent but there has been no concrete offer since. I don't think they really want him, but we really want to keep him.
"He will stay at Lyon unless he absolutely wants to go. The best present we can give to the fans is finding a way to keep him. We will try to do just that."
Loris is still believed to be seen by Spurs as a long-term replacement for 41-year-old number one goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
