Tottenham Hotspur attacker Marcus Edwards is reportedly training with Brentford after being told that he can leave the Premier League club in this summer's transfer window.
The 20-year-old has only made one first-team appearance for Spurs, spending the last 18 months on loan with Norwich City in the Championship and Excelsior in the Netherlands.
Edwards was not included in the Tottenham squad that travelled to Asia on Wednesday for their pre-season tour.
According to football.london, the reason for the England Under-20 international's absence is that he is currently training with Championship side Brentford with the view to earning a move.
Edwards, who still has one year left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, was compared to Lionel Messi by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino back in 2016.
The attacker has struggled to fulfil his early potential, though, and is seemingly not in the plans of Pochettino moving forward.
