Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a £30m bid in an attempt to sign Fiorentina hitman Giuseppe Rossi in January.
The Lilywhites have scored just nine Premier League goals this season - three of which came from the penalty spot - and, according to The Mirror, the North London outfit are ready to table a big-money offer for the Italian marksman in a bid to solve their goalscoring deficiencies.
Rossi, whose current deal with the Florence-based outfit expires in 2017, has hit 11 goals in 13 Serie A appearances for the Viola this season and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is said to be keen on the forward - who has previously been linked with a move to White Hart Lane.
The United States-born striker rose through the ranks at Manchester United, before embarking on a fruitful six-year spell with Villarreal in the Primera Liga.
Spurs, who sit ninth in the Premier League standings, host United in the English capital this afternoon, keen to respond to their 6-0 mauling at the hands of Manchester City last weekend.
