Aston Villa will reportedly sell Christian Benteke to Tottenham Hotspur, but only if their Premier League counterparts are prepared to pay £25m.

Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to sell Christian Benteke, but only if they receive a bid worth £25m.

It is believed that the Belgium international, who handed in a transfer request last night, has set his heart on a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

While Spurs are keen on the 22-year-old, they will have to part with almost four times what Villa paid for him just 12 months ago, according to The Mirror.

The report went on to claim that Villa are prepared to drive a hard bargain because the striker still has three years left to run on his current contract at Villa Park.

Benteke has returned to his homeland, where he is said to be awaiting developments.
