Russian club Rubin Kazan plan to challenge Tottenham Hotspur to sign highly-rated Malaga striker Salomon Rondon, according to reports.
Rubin are long-term admirers of Rondon and are prepared to offer Malaga £12m to secure the forward's services, The Metro understands.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Rondon as manager Andre Villas-Boas desperately tries to boost his attacking options.
The 22-year-old is the latest Malaga player to seek a move away from the crisis club, with Santi Cazorla very close to putting pen to paper on a deal at Arsenal.
Rondon scored 11 goals in La Liga last season to help fire Malaga to the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
The Venezuelan striker has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe over the last 12 months, including Newcastle United and West Ham United.
