Valencia striker Roberto Soldado has reportedly expressed his interest in joining Tottenham Hotspur.

The forward has told the Spanish club's board that he wants to sign for the Premier League side, who have been linked with a £26m bid, according to The Mirror.

Soldado's Valencia teammate Juan Bernat has revealed that the club are expecting him to leave this summer.

"They are now negotiating. I wish him well. It's his decision. We know that Valencia has had some very good seasons and he has given us a lot," he said.

Former Spurs star Ossie Ardiles recently said that the club could potentially challenge for the Premier League title if they complete the signing of Soldado.
