Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident about their chances of sealing a deal for Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The Japan international quickly became a regular for the Italian outfit following his 2019 arrival from Belgian side Sint-Truiden, and he ended the 2020-21 campaign with two goals from 33 appearances in all competitions.
Tomiyasu still has three years left to run on his deal with Bologna, but his performances have reportedly attracted the interest of Tottenham, who are seeking to bolster their defensive ranks.
The Lilywhites are yet to appoint a permanent successor to Jose Mourinho, but according to The Sun, they are optimistic about their chances of signing 22-year-old Tomiyasu.
The report adds that Spurs expect to land the centre-back for a modest fee of £15m, and Tomiyasu is desperate to test himself in the Premier League.
The former Avispa Fukuoka man, who has been called up to Japan's squad for the Tokyo Olympics, has made 63 appearances for Bologna over the past two seasons.
