Tottenham Hotspur 'facing competition from three clubs for Juventus winger'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to face intense competition in their bid to sign Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior.

Despite recruiting Brennan Johnson last summer, Spurs are expected to strengthen their wide options ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Ivan Perisic departed the club in the January transfer window, while it is currently unclear whether Spurs will look to sign RB Leipzig loanee Timo Werner on a permanent basis.

Manor Solomon's injury troubles will also reinforce Tottenham's desire to bring in attacking reinforcements over the summer transfer window.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are plotting a move for Juventus' Iling-Junior, who is also attracting interest from three other Premier League clubs.

The report claims that West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton are all considering Iling-Junior as a potential target.

Spurs are long-term admirers of the Englishman and were previously linked with a move ahead of the January transfer window.

German duo Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich are also said to be showing an interest in the 20-year-old, who only has a contract until the summer of 2025.

In a separate update, journalist Fabrizio Romano states there is no immediate sign that Iling-Junior will be offered a new contract.

Although the player has a good relationship with Juventus, no contract talks are taking place between the two parties.

With Iling-Junior set to enter the final 12 months of his deal, Juventus are likely to entertain offers during the summer transfer window.

The Englishman took the decision to move abroad and join Juventus in 2020 after spending nine years as part of the Chelsea academy.

After playing for Juventus' Next Gen team, Iling Junior made his senior debut for the club in a 4-0 Serie A win over Empoli in October 2022.

Iling Junior has gone on to make a total of 37 appearances for the Italian giants, but he has had to settle for just two Serie A starts this season.

The youngster, who can also play as a wing-back, managed to score two goals for the England Under-21s in Tuesday's 7-0 win over Luxembourg in European Championship qualifying.
