Scotland international James McFadden signs for St Johnstone

Scotland international James McFadden signs for Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone, with the deal set to be reviewed in January 2015.

Former Everton and Birmingham City forward James McFadden has signed for Scottish Premiership outfit St Johnstone.

The deal for the 31-year-old, who has been out of contract since leaving Motherwell at the end of last term, is set to be reviewed in January 2015.

Saints manager Tommy Wright told the club's official website: "It's no secret that recent injuries have left us short of options.

"[McFadden] brings a wealth of experience at the very top level and has the ability to provide us with that little spark.

"Both parties will review things in January and if it is working out for everyone then he will be here until the end of the campaign."

McFadden has been capped 48 times by Scotland.
