Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has hinted that he would prefer to play regularly for the Potters rather than sit on the bench at a top Premier League side.
Begovic has frequently been linked with a move away from the Britannia Stadium, but the Bosnia and Herzegovina international believes that he will only progress as a footballer if he plays every weekend.
The 25-year-old told The Sentinel: "I'm a very ambitious person in life and in football and I want to keep trying to move forward.
"The main thing is to try to control your own destiny and do the best for yourself and your family.
"The biggest thing is always to be playing. You are always passionate to play and if you don't have that game at the weekend it doesn't seem worth it."
The former Portsmouth stopper has been an ever-present in goal for Stoke this season.
