Jese Rodriguez's loan spell with Stoke City is over after being given unpaid leave until the end of the season, at which point he will return to Paris Saint-Germain.

Stoke City have confirmed that Jese Rodriguez will not play another game for the club after giving the Paris Saint-Germain loanee further compassionate leave.

The 25-year-old has been used just four times by the Potters since November after being given time off to be with his hospitalised son in Madrid.

Jese was then fined by Stoke last month after failing to report to training once his leave of absence had expired, however, and he has not been seen at all since the 2-1 loss to Everton on March 17.

Stoke have now taken the Spanish attacker and his rumoured £130,000-a-week wages off their books for good ahead of his return to PSG in the summer.

A club spokesman said: "In order to respond to recent press speculation surrounding Jese Rodriguez, we would like to confirm that the club has given Jese permission to take unpaid compassionate leave until the end of the season for personal reasons and therefore he will not be returning to Stoke during his loan period."

Jese scored the winner on his debut against Arsenal last August but chipped in with just one further assist during his expensive loan stint.
