Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly targeted Jack Butland to become their new number one for next season should Stoke City be relegated from the Premier League.
The recently-promoted Midlands outfit are looking to make a 'statement signing' to mark their return to the top flight following a six-year absence.
According to The Express, Wolves intend to rival Liverpool in making a move for Stoke goalkeeper Butland, who is almost certain to leave the bet365 Stadium should the Potters go down.
West Ham United are also understood to be lining up a bid for the England international, but that has not put Wanderers off from making their interest known.
John Ruddy has been Wolves' first-choice keeper in their Championship-winning campaign, which comes to an end with a trip to Sunderland next weekend, keeping 24 clean sheets to earn the Golden Glove award.
