Sunderland captain Lee Cattermole has put his side's 1-0 victory over Manchester City this afternoon down to the "belief" among the squad.
The 23-year-old also believes that the Black Cats fully deserved their win against Roberto Mancini's league leaders.
"They're a great side and you've got to ride your chances but I think, if you look at the best chances, they came to a red and white shirt," he told Sky Sports News. "We've got the belief going into games that were going to win now.
"We needed a team of eight or nine out ten's to beat City and that's we had today."
Cattermole was handed the man-of-the-match award for his performance.
