Sunderland's Paolo Di Canio: 'A point is good enough'

Paolo Di Canio believes that Sunderland's draw with Southampton is an "acceptable" result.

Paolo Di Canio has said that Sunderland's draw with Southampton this afternoon was a good result.

The away side went ahead with just three minutes played through Emanuele Giaccherini, but were pegged back in the 88th minute by Jose Fonte.

"When you are close, you hope for the three points, but we didn't deserve to win because Southampton were better than us near the end," the manager told Sky Sports News. "One point is good enough away from home, it is more than acceptable."

Sunderland are 15th in the Premier League with one point.
