Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio believes that new signing Jozy Altidore will score in excess of 15 goals for the club this season.
Altidore has moved to the Black Cats from AZ Alkmaar after netting 39 goals in two seasons, and Di Canio expects the USA international to repeat that form at the Stadium of Light.
The 45-year-old told the Northern Echo: "I have brought him in and I don't hope, I am sure he will be a success and with his characteristics, he will score many goals.
"He can play very well for the team but his main part is to score goals and to help the others.
"He is a modern footballer, like you saw for the national team. He can make lovely movements and we expect that he will score many goals for us. I don't know a number, but it won't be two. Maybe 15 or 17."
The 23-year-old scored just once in 28 appearances during a loan spell with Hull City in 2009.
