Martin O'Neill has been confirmed as Sunderland's new manager on a three-year contract.
The Irishman replaces Steve Bruce, who was sacked on Wednesday following the Black Cats' indifferent start to the season.
He takes over with the Wearside club sitting just above the relegation zone in 16th place, with 11 points from their opening 13 games.
The former Aston Villa boss will be in the stands for Sunderland's clash with Wolves tomorrow afternoon, with Eric Black taking temporary charge for the game.
O'Neill was the immediate favourite for the post and suspicions were confirmed when he arrived at the Stadium of Light for talks earlier today.
