Jeremain Lens staying at Sunderland

Sunderland midfielder Jeremain Lens insists that he will not be leaving the Stadium of Light during the ongoing transfer window.

Jeremain Lens has refuted the suggestion that he could leave Sunderland during the transfer window.

Quotes attributed to the midfielder last month hinted that he would consider leaving the Stadium of Light in order to gain regular match action elsewhere.

However, Lens has insisted that all of the speculation surrounding his future is down to the media.

"I never spoke about leaving. It's the media and all the things around me," he told the Sunderland Echo.

"We will see what happens. I'm a Sunderland player and I'm focused on Sunderland."

The Dutch international joined the Black Cats for £8m in the summer from Dynamo Kiev.
