Kemy Agustien: 'Swansea City success is no shock'

Kemy Agustien says that it is no surprise that Swansea have impressed this season.

Swansea City midfielder Kemy Agustien has said that his side's Premier League success is not a surprise.

Many had tipped the Welsh outfit for relegation at the start of the season, yet Brendan Rodgers's team have gone on to exceed their expectations and have received many plaudits for their style of play.

The Swans are the first ever club from Wales to play in the top flight of English football and Agustien believes that their achievements are not a fluke.

"I don't think this position is strange. In our first year in the Premier League we had more ball possession nine times out of 10 than the opponent," said Agustien.

The 25-year-old is currently out of action with an ankle injury but is nearing a return to fitness.

He added: "If the league would last one week longer, I could have played. I will have a short break and am looking for an optimal start at the beginning of the season."

Swansea sit 12th in the Premier League and host Liverpool in their final game of the season.
