Jonathan de Guzman says that Swansea City would continue to prosper without manager Michael Laudrup, who has been linked with a move away.

Swansea City midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has no doubts that his side would still be able to develop without manager Michael Laudrup.

The Dane has been linked with taking over at Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea after his impact since taking charge at the Liberty Stadium in the summer.

Laudrup is adamant that he will honour his current contract with the club, but De Guzman believes that the Swans would be fine without him.

"Everyone wants to get to the top and get the best out of their career and if it happens to him I will wish him the best, although it would be sad," De Guzman told Sky Sports News. "But there are other coaches out there capable of filling his shoes.

"Last season everyone was so happy when Brendan Rodgers was here, and there was a lot of sadness when he left. People were questioning if Michael Laudrup could do the job but just look at how well he has done, and if he gets the opportunity to take his theories elsewhere I would wish him the best.

"Sometimes that happens in football and we know a lot of coaches have respect for the way Swansea play good football."

Swansea won their first-ever major trophy on Sunday when they clinched the Capital One Cup.
