Angel Rangel: "I didn't touch Victor Moses"

Swansea City defender Angel Rangel is adamant that he didn't touch Victor Moses in the incident which saw Stoke City awarded a controversial penalty in their matchup.

Swansea City defender Angel Rangel has insisted that he didn't touch Victor Moses in the incident which saw Stoke City win a contentious penalty in their 2-1 victory over the Swans in their Premier League.

Garry Monk's side took a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot through Wilfried Bony, but were pegged back before half time when referee Michael Oliver adjudged that Rangel had fouled Moses.

Replays suggested that the contact was minimal and the Spaniard has admitted that he was furious with the decision, as Charlie Adam netted the Potters' equaliser.

Rangel told the club's official website: "Everything was looking good but then things changed before half-time with an unfair penalty. It changed the game. I don't even have to watch the replay. I know I didn't touch Victor Moses – he went down before I went to challenge him.

"One of their players said to me that we were killing them. They couldn't get near the ball, and we should have gone into half-time leading 1-0.

"We started well in the second half and we limited them to very few chances, but then they score from probably the only good cross they managed to get into the box. But it's three points lost for us."

Monk was equally furious about the decision and insisted that Moses needed to be "punished" for the incident.
