Report: Swansea City want Brendan Rodgers to return as manager

Swansea City are reportedly keen to bring Brendan Rodgers back to the club as manager this summer.

The Swansea City board are reportedly keen to reappoint Brendan Rodgers as manager this summer.

The Northern Irishman, who spent two years at the Liberty Stadium between 2010 and 2012, has been out of work since getting sacked by Liverpool last October.

Rodgers has publicly revealed his intention to get back into management, but opted to take a break from football following his dismissal at Anfield.

According to Wales Online, the Swans are interested in bringing Rodgers back for the 2016-17 season, but there are doubts over whether the club will be able to convince the 43-year-old to take the job.

Francesco Guidolin is the current head coach of the Welsh outfit, but it is expected that the Italian will not have his contract extended beyond the summer.

Rodgers, who earned Swansea promotion to the Premier League in 2011, is reported to have held talks with the club in December following the sacking of Garry Monk.
