Brendan Rodgers criticises Christmas schedule

Brendan Rodgers cricitises the busy Christmas schedule that awaits his small Swansea squad.

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has slated the Premier League over their scheduling of fixtures over the Christmas period.

The Swans face the tough task of four games in 12 days between now and January 2 and the busy schedule has led Rodgers to criticise the people who create the fixture list.

"The people who put fixtures together do not have a clue about physical conditioning," he said.

"For our game against Tottenham there will be one team and for the Monday game against Aston Villa there will have to be changes."

The 38-year-old's worries will be greater than most other Premier League managers as the Swans possess one of the smallest sides in the division.

"We have games on Wednesday and next Tuesday so there is enough recovery time for me to go with same team, but the plan over four games has always had to be to change it," said Rodgers.

The Welsh club begin the festive period by travelling to Everton on December 21 before hosting QPR and Tottenham at the Liberty Stadium.
