Swansea City's Alan Tate has broken his leg in a "bizarre golfing accident", according to his club.
Tate was the passenger in a golf buggy which lost control and the defender caught his leg against a tree.
The 28-year-old was later diagnosed with a fractured tibia of his left leg and could be out for up to six months.
"We're really gutted for him and he's obviously very disappointed," said Swans boss Brendan Rodgers.
"To be out for up to six months with what's happened will be absolutely devastating."
Tate joined the Welsh club in 2004 after two successful loan spells with the side.
