Team GB coach Stuart Pearce insists that he will take positives from his side's 2-0 defeat to Brazil in their Olympic warm-up match on Friday night.

Team GB coach Stuart Pearce has insisted that he will draw positives from his side's friendly defeat to Brazil as they head into the Olympics next week.

The host team were beaten 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on Friday night by a side considered favourites for the actual tournament.

"We know next week is the main one for us," Pearce told BBC Sport.

"We've played against one of the most outstanding Olympic teams. They could take most international teams on. They're going to be one of the teams to knock out if you're going to win this tournament.

"It's down to me to make sure we draw the positives from it."

Team GB start their Olympic campaign against Senegal at Old Trafford on Thursday. Pearce's side have also been drawn in the same group as Uruguay and the UAE.
