National League roundup: Forest Green Rovers maintain 100% record

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's action in the National League as Forest Green Rovers beat Lincoln City 3-1 to remain top of the standings.

Forest Green Rovers have maintained their 100% record in the National League with a 3-1 victory over Lincoln City.

James Jennings, Aaron O'Connor and Keanu Marsh-Brown got the goals as Rovers ended Saturday afternoon with a three-point lead over Woking and Wrexham.

Woking registered a 5-2 triumph over Chester FC, who had Ben Heneghan sent off during the early stages, while Dominic Vose scored in the last minute to earn Wrexham a 1-0 win over Welling United.

Eastleigh are fourth after a narrow 1-0 success over Macclesfield Town, with Tranmere Rovers completing the top five despite falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Boreham Wood.

Ryan Bowman scored his sixth goal of the campaign to earn Gateshead a 1-1 draw at home to Kidderminster Harriers, who remain without a win this season.

Debutant Matt Robinson scored at either end as Grimsby Town drew 2-2 with Torquay United, while Cheltenham Town came from behind to run out 2-1 winners against Barrow.

At the other end of the table, Halifax Town registered their first point of the campaign in dramatic circumstances as Connor Hughes and Jordan Burrow scored in added-on time to earn the Shaymen a 2-2 draw with Bromley.

Aldershot Town got their first win on the board after two goals from Richard Brodie helped his side to an emphatic 4-0 triumph away at Guiseley.

An early goal from Dan Sparkes earned Braintree Town a 1-0 win over Southport, while Dover Athletic netted in the last minute to snatch a 2-1 victory at home to Altrincham.
