Tranmere Rovers sign Ben Davies on loan

Preston North End's Ben Davies signs for Tranmere Rovers on loan.

Tranmere Rovers have signed Ben Davies on a one-month loan deal from Preston North End.

Davies, 19, will replace the injured Matt Hill, Liam Ridehalgh and Danny Woodards for Rovers.

Manager Rob Edwards told reporters: "Any team at this level that loses three left-backs would need to bring in extra cover.

"He's only young but he's played a lot of football at this level and in the division above and is an accomplished defender."

The defender began his career at Preston and has made six appearances for the club this season.
