Deadline day key events
Could Williams replace Rashford at Man United?
Manchester United have reportedly identified Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams as a potential replacement for Marcus Rashford.
The 27-year-old has spent his whole career at Man United, but it seems that his long association with the club is coming to an end.
Rashford has seen some of his performances under scrutiny this season despite registering seven goals and three assists in 24 competitive appearances.
The forward was one of two notable absentees, with Alejandro Garnacho, for Sunday's 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Manchester derby.
'I want to play for one of the best teams' - Gyokeres opens up on future plans
Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has admitted he wants to 'play for one of the best teams in Europe' amid interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.
Gyokeres has developed into one of Europe's most prolific strikers since he swapped Coventry City for Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2023.
The Sweden international racked up 43 goals in 50 competitive appearances during the 2023-24 season, including 29 strikes in 33 league matches.
The 26-year-old has continued to find the net at will in the current campaign, having scored 26 goals in 24 games in all competitions.
Could unsettled Man United star Rashford complete a spectacular move to Man City?
Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is reportedly 'a big fan' of Marcus Rashford, with a spectacular move to the Etihad Stadium not being ruled out at this stage of proceedings.
Rashford told journalist Henry Winter on Tuesday that he is "ready for a new challenge and the next steps" after being left out of the Manchester United squad for Sunday's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.
The Red Devils would allegedly be willing to sell Rashford for £40m in January, with the club said to be open to a move despite head coach Ruben Amorim insisting that he wants to keep hold of the Englishman.
When asked whether he wanted Rashford to stay during his press conference on Wednesday, Amorim said: "Of course, because this kind of club needs big talent and he's a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus."
How did Postecoglou respond to Rashford Man United exit question?
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has categorically shut down any questions on the future of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
Postecoglou is currently preparing his Spurs squad for the EFL Cup quarter-final between the clubs that takes place in North London on Thursday night.
However, Rashford has been a hot topic of conversation in recent days, aided by his revelation on Tuesday that he is ready to take on a new challenge away from Old Trafford.
United boss Ruben Amorim has since suggested that he wants to keep the England international at the Theatre of Dreams in order to get the best out of the long-serving attacker.
Could key Liverpool midfielder leave in 2025?
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch reportedly takes a specific stance regarding his future at Anfield.
Having not always started during Jurgen Klopp's final year at the club, there was doubt as to whether Gravenberch would be able to become a mainstay in the team under Arne Slot.
However, the 21-year-old has emerged as one of the club's best players of the season, making 21 starts in the Premier League and Champions League.
With Liverpool sitting at the top of both tables, the Merseyside giants naturally want to retain the services of the Netherlands international in the long term.
Man United 'strongly interested' in reuniting Ruben Amorim with PSG star
Manchester United have reportedly made Paris Saint-Germain's Nuno Mendes one of their top targets to sign under new manager Ruben Amorim, potentially reuniting the two after their time together in Portugal.
Amorim arrived from Sporting Lisbon last month and instantly implemented his 3-4-3 system that worked wonders with the Portuguese champions.
Many pundits have observed that the current Man United squad is not suited to the new system though, meaning many new faces could come through the door at Old Trafford over the next two transfer windows.
Left wing-back is one of the most glaring areas that needs improvement, mainly due to the injury problems suffered by both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia over the past few years.
Real Madrid 'open to selling' first-team duo next summer
Real Madrid have reportedly decided that they are willing to let defensive duo David Alaba and Eder Militao leave the club next summer.
Both players are currently sidelined with ACL injuries, contributing to serious selection problems for manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The Real Madrid manager has had to experiment often with players out of position and inexperienced academy graduates, due to the lack of senior options available at centre-back.
Aurelien Tchouameni has spent a lot of time playing as a centre-back over the past year, while Ancelotti had to hand Raul Asencio just his third senior start away to Liverpool in the Champions League last month.
"Panic buy": Arteta has 'no trust' in Arsenal's Sterling despite public regret
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta does not trust Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling to produce key moments on the big stage, and the winger's arrival on deadline day was nothing more than a "panic buy".
That is the view of Gunners expert Charles Watts after the 30-year-old was restricted to another watching brief in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Everton, the third Premier League game in a row where has been an unused substitute.
Sterling has now earned no minutes against Manchester United, Fulham or Everton, despite Arsenal desperately needing a late goal in the latter two games and Arteta telling the media that he wishes he could give the former Liverpool and Manchester City winger more opportunities.
Sterling is expected to start Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace, but speaking to Sports Mole, Watts concluded that Arteta has little faith in the on-loan Blues winger if he is not going to throw him on when the Gunners are pushing for a late dash of inspiration.
Liverpool 'tracking the progress' of potential Alexander-Arnold replacement
Liverpool have reportedly shortlisted Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto as an audacious replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold is still yet to sign a new contract at Anfield, with his current deal up in the summer, and Real Madrid believed to be plotting a move for the homegrown talent.
Arne Slot does already have a potential replacement in his squad in young Conor Bradley, who has proven capable of stepping up to the plate when required since his breakthrough last season.
Not signing a replacement if Alexander-Arnold was to leave would leave them short in full-back areas though, considering the club are also believed to be looking to add a left-back in the market too.
Maresca reveals Acheampong preference, how long it took to impress him
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has revealed that it took just days for Josh Acheampong to make a positive impression on him.
On Wednesday lunchtime, the Blues announced that they had agreed a five-year contract with the highly-rated teenager.
The announcement brought to an end a prolonged saga that initially saw the 18-year-old prevented from playing any competitive football for the club unless he extended his deal.
Having completed the 90 minutes against Astana in the Conference League last week, Acheampong is now expected to feature again when the West Londoners face Shamrock Rovers in the same competition on Thursday.
Saga over! Chelsea announce decision over academy star's future
Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed a new long-term contract with Josh Acheampong.
The future of the 18-year-old has been played out in the public eye in recent months, Enzo Maresca recently acknowledging that the academy player had been made unavailable due to the situation behind the scenes.
Acheampong and his representatives had given no concrete indication that they were willing to pen fresh terms anytime soon, a consequence of being unsure over whether the teenager would have a pathway through to the first team.
However, with the right-back starting last week's Conference League fixture against Astana in Kazakhstan, it became clear that a positive resolution was around the corner.
"He is right" - Amorim reacts to Rashford's bombshell claim on Man United future
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that he wants to keep Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford in response to the forward's bombshell interview on Tuesday.
Rashford told journalist Henry Winter that he is "ready for a new challenge and the next steps", with the attacker seemingly suggesting that he is ready to leave Old Trafford, potentially during the January transfer window.
However, Amorim interpreted the forward's words differently, and the Portuguese has insisted that the Red Devils academy product remains in his plans despite being left out of the squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday.
"I think he is right," Amorim said at his press conference to preview Thursday's EFL Cup quarter-final with Tottenham Hotspur. "We have here a new challenge, it is a tough one. For me, it is the biggest challenge in football, because we are in a difficult situation.
Help for Hojlund: Rashford, Zirkzee exits 'could open door' for Man United to land striker
Manchester United could reportedly battle RB Leipzig for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, with the Frenchman expected to be on the move during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old has only managed two goals and one assist in 14 appearances for PSG this season, and he was not in their squad for the Ligue 1 clash against Lyon at the weekend.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kolo Muani will be allowed to leave PSG in the middle of the 2024-25 campaign, as he does not feature in the plans of the club's head coach Luis Enrique.
Man United have been linked with the France international, as the Red Devils look to boost their attacking options in January due to the struggles of Joshua Zirkzee and likely exit of Marcus Rashford.
January arrival? Man United 'on verge' of securing wonderkid deal
Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signature of Sverre Nypan, with the attacker potentially making the move to Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
The 17-year-old scored eight goals and registered 10 assists in 33 appearances for Rosenborg during their recent season, while he has 13 goals and 11 assists in 60 games in total for the Norwegian giants.
Nypan has a contract with Rosenborg until December 2026, but it is widely expected that he will be on the move next year, with a number of major European clubs believed to be keen on his signature.
Man United have long been regarded as the favourites, though, and new Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim is said to be a huge admirer of the attacker, who is viewed as one of the best young talents in world football.
