The visitors took the lead in the 10th minute when Manolo Gabbiadini's left-footed cross from the right was powerfully headed past Zelijko Brkic from close range by Stefano Okaka.

Udinese responded as Di Natale curled a free kick into the top corner of the net beating Vincenzo Fiorillo after Giampiero Pinzi was fouled just outside the area.

The home side took the lead in the 32nd minute when Di Natale was played in by Roberto Pereyra and the striker slotted the ball into an empty net.

Di Natale could have secured his hat-trick just before half time when he raided down the left. The Italy international cut inside on his right foot but his effort was saved, and he smashed the rebound into the post.

After the break, Sampdoria drew level in the 53rd minute when Eder found the net with a low drive into the bottom corner on the edge of the box after Okaka had found him in space with a neat through ball.

The visitors regained the lead two minutes later as Okaka turned provider yet again and Roberto Soriano was left with a simple finish from close range as he guided his shot past Brkic.

Udinese tried to get back into the game and Di Natale twisted and turned on the edge of the area and fired an effort at goal, but Fiorillo made an excellent stop to keep his effort out.

However, Di Natale was not to be denied his hat-trick in what could be the 36-year-old's final game in Serie A and he got it in the 88th minute as he pounced on a terrible backpass from Gianluca Sansone and fired the ball into the bottom corner.
