Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez has expressed his delight following his side's victory over England in their World Cup Group D match.
La Celeste bounced back from their defeat against Costa Rica to claim a 2-1 win in Sao Paulo thanks to a Luis Suarez double.
As well as collecting three crucial points, the result ended Uruguay's 15-game losing run against European opposition, and Tabarez was pleased at being able to prove his critics wrong.
"If this was a movie, people probably couldn't have wished for a better result," he told reporters. "We have been able to beat a European team after a long, long time. Many people said we wouldn't be able to do so.
"Both goals were scored by Luis Suarez, a player who was injured a month ago and had to go through surgery. We are not qualified yet for the next stage. However, we are happy we get some fresh air."
Uruguay play their final group match against Italy in Natal next Tuesday.
