Report: Villarreal want Alvaro Morata

A report claims that Villarreal are the favourites to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Villarreal have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed on Monday that the Spanish Under-21 international would leave the Bernabeu this summer in search of regular football.

Juventus had been credited with the strongest interest, but according to Marca, Villarreal have made contact with the Champions League winners.

It is understood that Madrid are leaning towards a loan move for the 21-year-old, with Villarreal prepared to agree to those terms.

Morata's contract with his current club expires in 2015.
