Vitesse make light work of Cambuur

Vitesse secure a straightforward 4-1 win against Cambuur in Sunday's Eredivisie clash at the GelreDome.

Vitesse have cruised to an emphatic 4-1 win against Cambuur in Sunday's Eredivisie clash at the GelreDome.

The hosts were handed the perfect opportunity to open the scoring after just two minutes when on-loan Chelsea forward Nathan was brought down in the area, prompting the referee to award his side a penalty.

Lewis Baker stepped up and duly converted his spot kick to give Vitesse the lead, but in the 28th minute the visitors were level through Sander van der Streek.

Despite this, it only took Peter Bosz's charges four minutes before they were back in front, Milot Rashica's saved shot converted on the rebound by Abiola Dauda.

In the 67th minute Vitesse won another penalty when Baker was felled in the box by Kai Heerings, but this time the resulting spot kick was blasted wide.

It mattered little because the result was confirmed six minutes from time, courtesy of Guram Kashia's thumping header into the bottom corner, and Dominic Solanke added a fourth in stoppage time.

The result sees Vitesse climb to sixth in the Eredivisie table, while Cambuur slip to second from bottom.
