Ankle injury rules Wales winger Tom Lawrence out of Euro 2016

A torn ankle ligament forces Tom Lawrence to withdraw from the Wales squad for this summer's European Championships in France.

Tom Lawrence has admitted that he is "absolutely gutted" to have been ruled out of Euro 2016 with an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old confirmed the news on his Twitter account this evening.

"Absolutely gutted not to be involved in the Euros due to a torn ligament in my ankle it's a hard one to take but I'll be back stronger," he wrote.

"I'll be supporting the lads hopefully from France and if not then watching no doubt, all of them will do Wales proud."

The Leicester City attacker has been capped on four occasions by his country.
