Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is reportedly one of three contenders to replace Chris Coleman as the next manager of Wales.

The Football Association of Wales has reportedly whittled down the shortlist of managerial candidates to just three names ahead of making a New Year announcement.

Popular boss Chris Coleman stepped aside last month due to a lack of assurances from the governing body regarding his backroom coaching setup.

A number of names have since been linked to the position, but Wales Online claims that it is now a battle between three contenders.

Manchester United playing legend Ryan Giggs is said to still be in the running, having recently declared his interest, while Coleman's former deputy Osian Roberts is also being considered.

The report suggests that former West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis, who has yet to speak publicly about the prospect of managing his country, is the other possibility.

Wales do not play again until March 21 when taking on China in a Far East friendly.
