Half-Time Report: Watford in control at Hillsborough

Watford lead Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at half time in the Championship thanks to goals from Odion Ighalo and Almen Abdi

Watford have taken a 2-0 lead in at half time against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in the Championship this afternoon.

The visitors' opener was a controversial one and it was Odion Ighalo who grabbed it after 21 minutes.

Fernando Forestieri released Matej Vydra, who looked to be in an offside position, and his cut-back was eventually finished off by Ighalo to leave the home side furious.

Earlier in the half, Stevie May went close for Wednesday, but the Scottish striker's well-struck effort was blocked by Daniel Tozser on six minutes.

The Hornets doubled their advantage with seven minutes of normal time remaining when Almen Abdi's weak shot squirmed through the hands of goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.
