Watford striker Troy Deeney has been jailed for 10 months after pleading guilty to affray.
The 23-year-old was at the centre of a fracas with a group of students in Birmingham, where one man was left needing 20 stitches and another with a broken jaw.
The Championship club released a statement on their official website, which said: "Watford FC wishes to confirm that it is fully aware of sentencing relating to Troy Deeney, passed at Birmingham Crown Court today.
"Neither the club, nor individual officials, will be making any comment at this time. The club will issue a further, fuller statement within the next few days."
Deeney was seen kicking one of the men in the head via CCTV footage.
