Miguel Layun: 'Watford have the quality to survive'

Watford midfielder Miguel Layun backs his side to avoid relegation from the Premier League following their 2-2 draw with Everton.

Miguel Layun has insisted that Watford have the quality needed to stay in the Premier League.

The Hornets marked their return to the top flight by earning a 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park.

Watford were only denied the three points thanks to a late goal from Arouna Kone, and it has convinced Layun that his side will avoid a relegation battle this season.

"It was one of the best experiences that I've had in my career," Layun told the club's official website.

"This is one of the top leagues all around the world, and I know we have a lot of things to improve, but it's not easy to just come here and play the way we did.

"That's why I'm really happy with the team, because we all know that we had a chance to win this match and we are not fully happy. That's what makes me think this team have the quality not just on the pitch, but also outside the pitch, to stay in the Premier League."

Watford are back in action next weekend when they welcome West Bromwich Albion to Vicarage Road.
