Jonny Evans: 'West Bromwich Albion players will fight for Tony Pulis'

West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans says that the club's first-team squad showed they are working hard for Tony Pulis with their 4-2 victory over West Ham United.

West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans has acknowledged that he and his teammates are keen to ensure that Tony Pulis remains at The Hawthorns.

Pulis's future at the club has been a hot topic for debate after the club's takeover and his side's poor performances during the opening month of the season, but the Baggies returned to form at the weekend with a 4-2 victory over West Ham United.

Evans is hopeful that the performance and results against the Hammers shows that everyone at the club is pulling in the right direction as they look to move further up the Premier League table.

The 28-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "Obviously Tony Pulis is the manager and he's got a well-known way of playing football. As players we all buy into that and we want to work hard.

"Saturday showed you that we're fighting for him and fighting for ourselves. We've all got futures in the game and we've all got to perform every week because we've got reputations to keep.

"One thing Tony Pulis does with his teams is he gets them all working hard. I don't think you can say any of his teams doesn't work its socks off week in week out. I hope the fans appreciate that."

West Brom are next in action when they face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
