Peter Odemwingie repairs Roy Hodgson rift

Peter Odemwingie insists that his recent rift with West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has been patched up.

West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie has revealed that his rift with manager Roy Hodgson has been forgotten.

Earlier in the season Hodgson questioned the Nigerian international's commitment to the club following a succession of injury niggles.

Odemwingie was reportedly angered by Hodgson's comments, as speculation began to link him with a move away from the Hawthorns.

However, the pair have held discussions and the centre-forward has insisted that he is "very happy" playing for the Baggies.

"I had a few thoughts that something was wrong and I wanted to know his plans and if there was any doubt about my commitment to the club," Odemwingie told the The Independent. "He said he was 100% that he wanted to work with me and that I shouldn't take his frustration and anger [as being aimed] towards me. He said he always wanted me to play for his team.

"For me [not wanting to play] had nothing to do with it. I am the total opposite of a player who doesn't want to play through pain.

"We needed to clear the air but it was cleared and I'm very happy here."

Odemwingie has scored nine league goals this season.
