West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has expressed his pleasure at this afternoon's convincing win over Sunderland.
The Baggies netted four as Sunderland lost their first game by more than a single goal in the Premier League this season, and were ahead after just three minutes through in-form Peter Odemwingie.
"We got [off to] a great start," said Hodgson afterwards. "Scoring early on gave us the start we needed and we were able to build on it.
"Sunderland worked hard to get back into the game, they put forwards on the field but that gave us the chance to counter attack and score more goals.
"Our home form has been poor and it was a much-needed win. We mustn't rest on our laurels - we've got Chelsea next."
The win saw Hodgson's men rise to 12th in the Premier League.
