Tony Pulis still 'worried' about relegation

West Brom manager Tony Pulis admits that he is still 'worried' by the prospect of relegation despite moving closer to third-placed Arsenal than the bottom three.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has admitted that he is still worried about the possibility of his side being relegated this season.

The Baggies made it 10 points from the last 12 available with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at The Hawthorns this afternoon, taking them up to 39 points for the campaign.

Pulis acknowledged that the usual safety mark of 40 points was likely to be enough again this season, but admitted that he can never rest completely until his side are mathematically certain to stay up.

"Let's get to 40 and then take it from there. I think 40 points is always [required]," he told reporters.

"It is very difficult managing teams in the lower half of the Premiership. It is really, really hard work mentally and physically. You take it on board and worry about every result, your own and everything else.

"It can drive you insane at times and this is exactly the same as the clubs I have managed. You never stop worrying, never stop thinking that things can turn. You have to keep driving people and driving people through. I think we deserved it in the end."

The Baggies are now closer to third-placed Arsenal than they are to the relegation zone.
