Report: Alan Irvine sacked by West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion reportedly sack manager Alan Irvine after less than seven months in charge of the club.

Alan Irvine has reportedly been sacked as the manager of West Bromwich Albion.

The Scot has come under increasing pressure after a poor run of form which has seen the Baggies lose seven of their last nine Premier League games.

They are currently 16th in the table and sit just a point above the relegation zone.

According to The Telegraph, Albion held a board meeting on Monday and decided to terminate Irvine's contract.

It is believed that chairman Jeremy Peace had hoped to delay a decision, but due to overwhelming pressure from the fans he has changed his mind.

Irvine was appointed as the manager of West Brom in June and has won just four of his 19 league games in charge.
