Ray Wilkins and Claudio Ranieri hold talks with West Brom over the vacant manager's position, according to reports.

Claudio Ranieri and Ray Wilkins have apparently held talks with West Bromwich Albion over replacing Roy Hodgson at the Hawthorns.

Hodgson left his post as Baggies manager to take the vacant England job at the end of the Premier League season.

Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton was made immediate favourite to succeed the 64-year-old but it is now being reported that Ranieri and Wilkins are the two leading contenders, according to Sky Sports News.

Wilkins has been out of work since being sacked as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant at Chelsea in 2010 while Ranieri, another former Blues employee, was dismissed as manager of Inter Milan in March.
