West Bromwich Albion come from a goal down to beat Atromitos 3-1 in a pre-season friendly.

West Bromwich Albion were forced to come from behind to beat Atromitos in a pre-season friendly, eventually running out 3-1 winners.

The visitors opened the scoring against the run of play after just 12 minutes when Thanasis Karagounis smashed a half-volley past Boaz Myhill from the edge of the area.

Markus Rosenberg almost levelled the scores shortly afterwards, but he was denied an easy tap-in by the legs of Luigi Cennamo in the Atromitos goal.

The hosts' equaliser finally came 10 minutes after the restart when Nicolas Anelka passed the ball out wide to Youssouf Mulumbu before making his way into the box for the return cross. Mulumbu found the Frenchman with his pass, and the Frenchman made no mistake with his header.

West Brom came within inches of taking the lead with just under 20 minutes left when Goran Popov found Saido Berahino, but the striker's 25-yard effort came back off the crossbar.

Berahino would not have to wait long for a goal, however, as he put the Baggies 2-1 up just four minutes later, wrong-footing the keeper before producing a chipped finish.

West Brom wrapped up the win late on when Rosenberg produced a stunning finish on the turn to put the result beyond doubt.
