West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has confirmed that striker Andy Carroll has returned to training following an injury setback in pre-season.
The 25-year-old was ruled out of the early stages of the campaign after suffering an ankle injury which required surgery.
Yesterday, Gold wrote on Twitter: "It has been confirmed that striker Andy Carroll has resumed training, but there is no time-scale on his possible return."
While some reports have claimed that Carroll could make his comeback earlier than expected, Gold also stated on the social networking website that he expects the forward to be ready to play in November.
Carroll spent the majority of last season on the sidelines with an Achilles problem.
